Abstract :
A quasistatic model for a coplanar waveguide (CPW) including conductor loss has been developed. The CPW is conformally-mapped into a parallel plate configuration, where conductor loss is evaluated using a conductor surface impedance which is scaled by the conformal map. Both skin depth and current crowding in the CPW are accounted for. Comparison between experimental measurements on low-loss dielectric substrates and this model show excellent agreement.
