Abstract :
The image theory which approximately represents a quasistatic field over a homogeneous conducting half space is extended to the case of a 2-layer conductor by introducing a new complex depth for the location of the image. The theory is illustrated by considering a vertical magnetic dipole over a 2-layer conductor.
