New Multi-Station Top Mounted FM Antenna

This paper describes how existing, simple antenna principles were employed to provide a wideband FM antenna with high power capabilities for multiplex operation. The new antenna was developed to permit three high powered stations to take advantage of a particularly favorable location for FM broadcasting, thereby improving service to the public. Two channels are in operation; the third will be added later. Measured patterns and impedance characteristics are shown, and methods used to determine antenna power rating are discussed.
