Abstract
In the past, various aspects of circular polarization --its principles, advantages and disadvantages --have been discussed. Here, the subject is presented from the system point of view, relating the performance parameters of the transmitting antenna, particularly axial ratio, to the quality of the picture delivered by an idealized receiving installation. This paper then concludes with an overview of RCA circularly polarized transmitting antennas.
