Abstract :
Winding current waveforms for a switched reluctance motor appear to be irregular, especially with a stationary rotor and at low speeds. However, an analysis of current data shows that simple mathematical models describe the relationship between the rate of rise of current and rotor position. These models are useful in the design of power electronic circuits and controllers.
