Abstract
In the paper a fibre-optic sensor which can be used to measure temperature continuously over the range 300¿1100 K is described and its characteristic is reported. The measurement of the `decay time¿ of fluorescence of Nd-doped glass and garnet is used as the means of determining temperature with a solid-state optoelectronic sensor system.
