Abstract :
It is shown that certain zeros in row vectors involved in the calculation of state-variable feedback laws by the method of Anderson and Luenberger may be replaced by elements of arbitrary value, without affecting system eigenvalues. Minimisation of the norm of a row of the feedback matrix is suggested as one possible way to exploit this freedom.
