  • Abstract
    Let g(x)h(x) = x^n - 1, n = q^m - 1 , and assume that h(x) contains a primitive factor f(x) of degree m . If V is the q -ary (n, k) cyclic code generated by g(x), U its subcode generated by g(x)f(x) , then it will be shown that the weight distribution of V can be obtained from the weight distribution of U and its coset U + g(x) .
