Abstract
The analysis of the magnetic field in a linear reluctance motor is presented. The analysis is carried out by the finite element method in three dimensions using the so-called difference scalar potential. The accuracy of the model is checked by comparison of the results with those obtained by both measurements and 2-D vector potential analysis
