Abstract :
This paper describes a new method for the accurate computation of the dynamic transient analysis of vector controlled motors, such as permanent-magnet motors or induction motors. The method is based on the 3D finite element method with edge elements. For accurate dynamic analysis, it is necessary to change the 3D meshes, taking into account the motion equations of the armature automatically. This method makes it possible to predict dynamic transient characteristics for the optimum design of 3D shaped motors
