Abstract
An improved spectral subtraction technique is proposed for enhancing speech corrupted by additive noise. This technique is based on the use of linear predictive analysis for identifying spectral regions with low speech energy. This method can significantly reduce the musical noise associated with frequency domain noise reduction techniques.
