Abstract :
It is shown that, at low frequencies, for nonmagnetic conductors of thickness l, the recession depth is l/3 and is independent of frequency and of the conductivity of the material. This simple relationship for low frequencies allows a graph to be drawn of the recession depth over the whole frequency range, since, at high frequencies, the recession depth is one-half of the skin depth ¿.
