Abstract
A statistical measure for the stability of solid state noise sources is discussed. Its applicability is demonstrated. Two independent techniques, a cross correlation technique and a triangulation technique, are employed to estimate the instabilities of individual noise sources. An analysis for the validity of the cross correlation technique for separating the instability of the noise source from that of the measurement system is also given.
