Abstract
It is shown that certain integral equations for the wire antenna possess a unique solution so that difficulties associated with analytical or numerical evaluation cannot be attributed to either the absence of a solution or its nonuniqueness. There are, however, some singularities in the solution and the significance of these for numerical methods is discussed.
