Abstract :
This paper gives specification guidelines to improve power quality immunity and to reduce plant operating cost. To achieve higher standards of product quality, new techniques have been used relentlessly with an electrical distribution system that has not changed substantially since its original design. The goal of this article is to provide information that will allow end users successfully to integrate electronic equipment with existing electrical systems. Cost-effective solutions to improve system reliability and performance are included. The complexity of the industrial electrical conditions demands that a systematic approach are taken to develop cost-effective solutions. Equipment specifications that include clauses describing the PQ events will eliminate unexplained or mysterious events and reduce the cost of product manufacture.
