Abstract
The design of digital cascade compensators often involves determining the response of a sampled analogue system. The paper presents a technique for evaluating the response at a chosen design point, using the Laplace domain. It is not necessary to transform the system´s transfer function into the z-domain to obtain the requirements of the digital cascade compensator. Then methods for selecting and implementing a suitable compensator are proposed.
