Abstract :
A discussion is presented of the key selection criteria for power, control, and communications cables when used in transmission and distribution facilities. The study covers underground, substation, industrial, residential, and overhead cable applications in distribution and briefly touches on transmission applications. Cable selection criteria include traditional as well as present and future considerations. Check lists of key selection criteria are provided for a variety of installation conditions and cable types
