Abstract :
This paper outlines some of the main ideas for designing signaling schemes in the presence of a known interference. The paper shows that the straightforward application of conventional methods is ineffective and that while the linear cancellation of the interference using subspace methods is an appealing idea, has clear limitations as well. Quantization-based cancellation of the interference was found to perform very well, and makes it possible to approach fundamental information theoretic limits
