  • Abstract
    A theoretical and experimental investigation of a homodyne network analyser, based on a design proposed by Watanabe and Ashiki, has been performed. A precise calibration procedure, which takes into account all of the expected imperfections in the system, has been developed and it is also shown that the calibration procedure is directly applicable to a modulated subcarrier network analyser. The calibration procedure has been confirmed by measuring a number of impedance standards.
