Transition from 2-dimensional line analysis to 1-dimensional model

The transition from 2-dimensional line analysis to the 1-dimensional model is examined on the basis of a suitable series expansion of the voltage equation. It is shown that 1-dimensional equations can be derived from a 2-dimensional analysis with proper approximations for certain operators. A consistence procedure is outlined and applied to an exponential taper.
