Abstract :
A frequency meter for application in HiFi sets, car-radios as well as other radio-receivers is described. Special attention has been payed to high display stability. For that reason special measures have been taken in the design of the precounter and a comparator is included in the measurement system. Small radiation is obtained by the use ofa multiplex display system operating with sine-waves. Other measures to reduce radiation concerns the reference oscillator and the coupling between the precounter and the measurement chip. The IF offset range is programmable via a serial preset system of the frequency counter it offers a large set of programmable offsets. The complete system can be used in radio sets without difficult modifications and interfaces.
