Abstract :
A procedure for deriving discrete phase-coded waveforms from analog coded waveforms, which consists of constructing a discontinuous phase characteristic by quantization of a continuous one, is described. This procedure has been used for synthesizing a discrete-coded waveform by π-quantization of a parabolic phase characteristic. The autocorrelation function of the new binary-coded signal exhibits a quasi-uniform sidelobe distribution and a peak-to-sidelobe ratio which depends on the code length.
