Abstract :
Application of the Hall effect magnetic playback head to the combination head in cassette tape decks requires the rear gap design to avoid the manfacturing difficulties accompanying the front gap design. The rear gap magnetic core feeds less magnetic flux from the tape to the Hall element than the front gap type core. As a result optimization of the design for the magnetic core and the Hall element is carried out as follows:
