Abstract
In-line spectrally selective fiber optic devices (holo-fiber couplers) consisting of volume Bragg holograms integrated with side-polished fibers have been fabricated. They have a spectral resolution of <10 nm, low insertion loss (<0.8 dB), and can be designed for any coupling strength, depending upon the hologram´s interaction length and index modulation. A single fiber can have many couplers for distributed wavelength division multiplexing and demultiplexing applications.<>
