Abstract
Two versions of a Gaussian signal, corrupted by independent Gaussian noises, are available for estimating the signal-to-noise power ratio. This correspondence demonstrates that the sample correlation coefficient can be used to construct an unbiased estimator that is asymptotically efficient.
