Abstract
A review of various techniques for coherently combining microwave power from two or more sources is presented. Emphasis is placed on techniques which combine solid-state power sources. Basic operating characteristics and limitations for the different combiner types are discussed. The performances obtained with the most successful techniques are described. Future trends in combining RF power from solid-state sources are identified.
