Abstract :
The phenomenal growth of single chip microcomputers in consumer products has generated greater demand for devices with increased performance capabilities. Microcomputer manufacturers have responded to the demand for increased performance by introducing devices with greater system integration. As a result, functions previously incorporated in several discrete packages have been brought "on chip" reducing package count, board real estate usage, and cost.
