Abstract
A simple method is described for calculating the strength of intermodulation products. The method applies to the mixing of signals of arbitrary strength in a nonlinear circuit element with an instantaneous characteristic. Harmonic generation and cross modulation appear as special cases. The results are in the form of multiple integrals over the I-V characteristic which may be evaluated numerically. The method is tested against previous analytical calculations.
