Abstract :
A simple circuit is presented that, connected in series with a hjgh-voltage generator, detects the appearance of a microdischarge (an incidental impulse current appearing in an industrial vacuum between metal electrodes subject to a high voltage), then quenches it by causing a brief fall in the voltage between the electrodes. It can lead to a reduction in the number of sparks observed.
