Frequency Synthesis for Color TV-Receivers with a New Dedicated μComputer

A remote controlled frequency synthesis tuning system for color TV application, controlled by a new dedicated single chip spl mu/-computer from the 8048 family is described. Because it is highly modular, the system can be used in a broad range of TV receivers, beginning at the basic portable and ending at the "Top of the Range" model. The modularity of this microcomputer controlled system is due not only to the number and types of integrated circuits but also to the features of the control software running on the computer. The flexibility of the system is increased by software modules, activated by programming diodes, which determine both internal system features and user operation.
