Abstract :
Theoretical predictions are made of the piezoelectric generation of Bleustein--Gulyaev and bulk-shear waves by interdigital transducers on p.z.t.-4 ceramic. Variation with frequency and number of periods of each transducer is studied for both metallised and free-external-surface regions. Bulk-wave radiation patterns for the two sets of electrical boundary conditions are also studied.
