Abstract :
The letter describes a microstrip-amplifier circuit where both the triggering of the trapped-plasma state and amplification occur at the second harmonic of the fundamental TRAPATT frequency. Peak power output of 24 W and a gain of 6.5 dB have been observed with this amplifier at a frequency of 2.29 GHz.
