Abstract :
The author presents an argument which states that to produce successful managers in today´s society, Britain needs to broaden its education to include management training alongside training in engineering etc. In other words, if you want to be a manager in the future you need a good broad-based schooling with Arts and Sciences, with built-in economics, communication skills etc. in engineering degrees so that once you get to the job you are in a position both to interact with people, and to introduce and adapt to change via a formal management training programme
