Abstract :
A 4-port symmetrical coupling circuit met in the theory of YIG devices, such as nonreciprocal filters, limiters and circulators, is that of a junction of two orthogonal wires or other transmission lines. Although the scattering matrix description of this network has been analysed using Kirchhoff´s laws, a more simple derivation may be obtained by the eigenvalue method.
