Abstract :
A Teflon-slab-loaded direct contact microwave diathermy applicator has been developed. It produces minimal leakage radiation during effective heating of simulated planar tissue models. ´The use of TEM mode excitation results in heating patterns which are more uniform than the patterms of comparable waveguide applicators without dielectric loading.
