  • Abstract
    The problem of an insulated electric dipole antenna that has been coated with a layer of a double negative metamaterial operating in a lossy medium is considered. Theoretical predictions of its input impedance indicate that it may be possible to significantly improve the bandwidth of such an antenna with the proper selection of material parameters.
