Abstract :
To allow control of a linear induction actuator, a single non-contacting capacitance transducer has been used to provide directly simultaneous displacement and velocity signals. Isolation between signals is obtained by using a high-frequency carrier for the displacement measurement and a noncarrier charge-modulation method for the velocity measurement.
