  • Abstract
This article will address some of the basic concepts for developing a training program that would be needed for qualifying electrical maintenance employees. The typical method utilized for developing such an effective training program is the systematic approach to training (SAT) and instructional systems design (ISD) methodology. The analysis phase of the ISD will be the primary focus of this article and will address several key elements which include the requirements for a qualified person, as well as conducting a needs assessment, job/task analysis (JTA), and job hazards analysis to develop and maintain an effective and safe work force.
