Abstract
The mean power rating of a ferrite device is often an important parameter in its specification. The paper describes a waveguide circulator using a directly coupled composite turnstile resonator that has been tested at a mean power level of 2000 W at a frequency of 8.4 GHz in a WR90 waveguide. The high-power insertion loss at 2000 W between ports 1 and 2 was below 0.20 dB and the leakage at the third port was 20 W. Forced-air cooling was employed in obtaining this result.
