Abstract :
The success of component-based software engineering depends on systems integrators´ ability to select the most suitable components for their intended application. System integrators depend on component suppliers to reliably describe their products. A flexible, property- value approach lets suppliers adequately describe simple and complex properties, and a certification scheme ensures the descriptions´ trustworthiness
