Abstract :
A description is given of the SAMPEX (Solar, Anomalous, and Magnetospheric Particle Explorer) data processing unit, which provides overall control of the scientific payload while acquiring, combining, and compressing science data to produce the science telemetry for the mission. Data manipulation techniques for intelligently using the onboard recorder storage are examined. Some key features of the data processor design are given
