Abstract :
The author has used transverse electric measurements on the symmetry axis of an axisymmetric inhomogeneous medium to reconstruct its two-dimensional complex permittivity distribution. The distorted Born iterative method is applied to solve the nonlinear inversion problem, and the numerical mode-matching method is used to solve the forward problem in each iteration. It is shown through numerical examples that good imaging results can be obtained by using very simple measurements on the axis of symmetry
