Abstract :
Feedback has been applied to a capacitor type of noncontacting dimensional comparator. This leads to greatly simplified use because the device is inherently linear and the calibration is independent of electrode area. The use of nulling gives good accuracy, and this is obtainable at low cost because the performance depends critically on only a few components of the device.
