Abstract :
The one-dimensional (1D) least-mean-square LMS spectrum analyzer, as proposed by Widrow, is extended to the two-dimensional (2D) case. The relationship between the 2D discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and the 2D LMS algorithm is established and employed to recursively compute a 2D LMS spectrum, of the 2D DFT, by proper choice of the LMS adaptation step μ
