Abstract :
In the paper a derivation of the rough-surface reflection coefficient for the coherent reflected field is given. The result obtained assumes a plane wavefront incident on a Gaussian collection of sinusoidal surface waves with uniform phase distribution. The theoretical results obtained is compared with experimental data. In addition, the probability density function of sea-wave elevations is obtained.
