Abstract :
A comparison is made between transmission reaction and reflection cavity-stabilised oscillators. Their essential features such as maximum loaded Q factor and tunuble frequency range are shown to differ markedly. Based on these considerations, outlines are given for designing highly stable microwave oscillators.
