Abstract :
Several actively compensated finite-gain amplifiers have been reported separately in the literature. In the paper, a general, systematic and unified study of actively compensated noninverting or positive-finite-gain amplifers (ACFPGAs) employing three operational amplifiers is described. Subject to a set of practical performance constraints, ACFPGAs are first divided into several classes. Each class is then subdivided into several types, and realisability conditions are developed for each of the different types. These conditions lead to the generation of a set of 11 tunable and stable structures; eight of them are completely new. The performance of the different circuits is then investigated in detail. Finally, the results of practical experiments on the ACFPGAs are given. An application in active filters is also considered. Theoretical and experimental results agree closely.
