Abstract :
The amplitude distribution is considered of a signal obtained by summing M consecutively delayed versions of an m-sequence generated by an r-stage shift register, particularly for the case M > r. It is shown, how, for M > r, best approximation to a Gaussian distribution can be obtained by choice of an m-sequence having an appropriate characteristic polynomial.
