Abstract :
It is represented that the inflection frequency f i, has the important role in the dispersive property of microstrip lines. This f i is related to the coupling between the TEM mode and the TM 0 mode. Using f i, an approximate dispersion formula is derived by improving Schneider´s formula. The results obtained by the present formula are compared with the other available results; good agreement is seen.
