Abstract :
A high-resolution optical position sensor based on two sensing elements is described. The important system nonlinearities and error sources are identified, and correction methods are presented. An autozeroing scheme is employed to obtain an accurate center point and to reduce the effects of temperature variations and component tolerances on the overall system. The predicted results are verified experimentally using commercial parts
